With the second round tipoff's starting in just minutes, this will be a short 4 Points with just the match ups and the picks. Enjoy!
1. The first game of the evening will feature the North Carolina Tarheels against the surprise Big East team, Marquette. These two teams will play on CBS and will be a good match up of young teams. Buzz Williams, the coach for the Marquette Golden Eagles has been talked about because he may be leaving after the year to go to a bigger team but this game should come down to the very end. My guess is North Carolina 86 Marquette 83.
2. The second game will be the Kansas Jayhawks against the Richmond Spiders. The spiders are a very big underdog, but have been hot as of late. Obviously I'm hoping for Kansas to be up big by halftime and cruise in the second half, but anything can happen in the NCAA tournament, just ask Duke after last night. My prediction is Kansas 90 Richmond 75.
3. The nightcap will start out with Kentucky against Ohio State. This game should be called an NBA draft game because of all the future pros on the court for this one. There are many talented athletes on both teams but I believe that Ohio State has more seniors which will prove to be the deciding factor in this game. Ohio State 84 Kentucky 81
4. The final game is one that not many people will probably watch and is definitely one that no one picked in their brackets. Florida State vs. VCU. VCU is what many would call this year's Cinderella team. They are a team that many people didn't expect to get into the tournament and now are on a run that no one expected. The Florida State Seminoles have advanced this far because of their quality defense. I think this will be the end of the Cinderella's run, Florida State 77 VCU 71.
With the Elite Eight starting tomorrow, I will write a blog tomorrow during the games about the matchups and my thoughts on the rest of the weekend. Enjoy the games! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
